How To Connect Hose To Power Washer

Blogs 530

To connect the hose to the power washer, firstly, before connecting, check whether the rubber sealing ring of the water inlet is intact, and then screw the female head of the garden water pipe directly into the male head of the machine. Remember, be sure to manually tighten, do not force twist to avoid thread dislocation. The most important point is that before starting the motor, the water source must be turned on for “emptying” operation, otherwise the internal components are easily damaged.

Importance Of Properly Connecting The Hoses

Many users are hasty when installing and feel that they can use the water pipe. In fact, if the connection is improper, not only water leakage will occur, but also the pressure output will be unstable, and even the pump will be directly burned. Even the most basic process, as long as you do it right, can extend the life of your machine by several years.

Detailed Step Guide

Step 1: Check the water inlet and sealing ring

Before you start to connect the water pipe, find the water inlet (usually on the side or front of the fuselage).

Check the sealing ring: carefully check whether the rubber ring or gasket inside the water inlet is in place. If it is missing, cracked or has aged and become hard, it will definitely leak water during operation, causing the pressure to not go up at all.

Remove impurities: remove the sediment or debris in the interface. Don’t underestimate this dust, once it enters the pump, it will be in big trouble.

Step 2: Correct alignment and connection of water pipes

Hold the female head of the garden hose steady and align it with the water inlet of the machine.

Alignment is key: Slowly turn clockwise. If you feel resistance, don’t screw hard, once the sliding teeth or random buckle (cross-thread), the water inlet thread is useless.

Manual tightening: just tighten it by hand until it feels tight. Don’t take a wrench or pliers to hard and strengthen the plastic parts. If the plastic parts are cracked, the subsequent maintenance cost is not low.

Step 3: Feed pump “water filling and emptying”

It must be remembered that it is strictly forbidden to start the high-pressure washer motor when the waterway system is out of water.

Operation process: after connecting the water pipe, first turn the faucet at home to the maximum. Next, pull the trigger of the spray gun (remember to install the nozzle) until the water flow from the spray gun is smooth and continuous.

Why do you have to do this: This process is called “diversion emptying”. If the water pump is dry, there will be a “cavitation effect” inside, which will generate extremely high heat and damage the sealing ring and valve in minutes.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Water Leakage: If you have tightened it and it leaks, it is basically that the rubber sealing ring is worn out. Go to the hardware store and buy a new one.

Weak water flow: check whether the water pipe is blocked by a bend or the faucet at home is not open enough.

Compatibility issues: Most high-pressure cleaners use a standard 3/4-inch garden tube connector. However, attention should be paid to the aging degree of the water pipe. If the water pipe is too brittle, the water supply pressure will not be stable, which will affect the cleaning effect.

Safety Reminder

After use, be sure to turn off the water source first, and pull the gun to release the residual pressure in the pipeline, and then disassemble the water pipe. Also, don’t let the machine keep the motor on without spraying water, which will cause the pump body to overheat for a long time.
