Before the pump is pressurized, the work has already begun. The hose integrity is the line of defense against catastrophic failure. During the pre-start inspection, you have to watch the hose like a detective: is there a “bulge” coming out? Is the outer skin frayed to reveal the steel wire reinforcement? Operational Stability And “Dead Man Switch”

Once your foot slips or your hand is loose, this switch must make the pressure return to zero instantly, otherwise an unmanned water gun with pressure will keep spraying in the field.
